Logo development

Logo OK Automobile + Sports Car ServiceThe image shows the logo of the company "OK Automobile + Sportwagenservice." The logo is black and red. To the left of it is a large black heart-shaped "O." The letter "K" is red and slightly larger than the rest of the text. Below the letter are two smaller text boxes labeled "Vehicle technology," "Body," and "Painting." The design is simple and minimalist.

OK stands for Oliver Glockner & Klaus Melchior. The auto repair shop's logo, along with the rest of the corporate design, was developed several years ago.

Website

The websiteok-automobile.comwas the logical development of this design.

App

The desire arose for a tool that would allow convenient management of customers, cars, tire storage, etc. The solution should be as simple as possible, but run on all PCs, Macs, and mobile devices such as iPads, Android phones, etc.

Based on these requirements, I decided to develop the application as a Progressive Web App (PWA)to develop.

In order to be able to use this app for other customers later, I developed the ilumi CRM, which is a combination of a PIM (Wikipedia) and a CRM system (Wikipedia).

For OK Automobile we started with the objects"Customer","Car"and"Tire storage". Due to its ease of use, the app was quickly adopted by all employees and has since become a daily part of the company.

A screenshot of the OK app, which was created with the ilumi CMS.The image shows a screenshot of the ilumi CMS login page. The page is titled "Login" and features a photo of a man in the upper right corner. Below the photo is a form with fields for entering personal information such as an email address and password. There is also a submit button. The background of the page shows a close-up of the engine compartment of a Porsche. The Porsche logo can be seen in the lower right corner of the image. Screenshot from the OK app from the “Auto Listen” sectionThe image shows a screenshot from the OK app, taken from the "Car Lists" section. The app is open, and the user has called up a list of customer cars. At the top of the screen is a menu bar with options such as "Find Car," "Mode," "Create Car," and "Export." Screenshot of the OK app from the “Show customers” sectionThe image shows a screenshot of the OK app from the "Show Customers" section. The app has a white background with a black header and footer. On the left side of the header is a photo of a bald man wearing a black jacket. He is smiling and looking directly into the camera. On the right side are contact details such as a phone number, email address, and phone number. The lower sections display customer cars and customers with the same last name. Screenshot of the OK app from the “Show Car” sectionThe image shows a screenshot of the OK app from the "Show Car" section. A small image of a Volkswagen Caddy is visible in the top left corner. In the center of the image is a list of information about the vehicle. Below that, a photo of the vehicle registration document is visible. Screenshot of the OK app from the “Edit customer” sectionThe image shows a screenshot of the OK app from the "Edit Customer" section. The application is displayed on a white background with a black header and footer. At the top of the screen is a menu bar with various options. Below are form fields for "Salutation," "Last Name," "Address," etc.

Actions and events

Actions can be defined in the app that are triggered by certain events. For example, customers receive a reminder email 30 days before their MOT expires, prompting them to schedule an appointment at the workshop for an inspection. Birthday emails can also be sent automatically, as can newsletters to all customers. By combining different actions, complete workflows can be set up.

The app now saves the workshop a lot of time and structures its processes.

Interesting features of the app

The app is not limited to specific areas of use and can be configured to meet a wide range of requirements.

  • Very high user-friendliness
  • Very high data security
The app is stored in Hamburg in a data center run by a professional business provider. There, the data is protected against system failures through redundant systems and backups. (A small business typically stores its data on a PC or laptop, which isn't adequately protected against hardware failures.)
  • No major technical requirements for the hardware
There's no need to purchase anything of your own. The app runs on PCs, Macs, tablets (Android or iPad), and all common smartphones.
  • All users work with the same database
A change (e.g. to the customer) is immediately available everywhere.
  • The system works with complete histories of an object
This means that if, for example, a customer's details have been changed repeatedly over the years (their address, phone number, etc., changes due to a move), this is completely transparent. You can see which employee made which changes and when, and you can revert to any previous version. (It's like an infinite "undo" function.) This is also very useful for errors.

Website “Bäckerei Schirmer” - banner imageThe image shows a close-up of a freshly baked loaf of bread on a white cloth. The bread is golden brown and has a crisscross pattern on top. It is dusted with flour, giving it a shiny appearance. The background is blurred, making the bread the focal point of the image. The overall mood of the photo is warm and inviting, with the focus on the bread.

Website “Bakery Schirmer”
Kohls becomes Schirmer

Kohls Bakery, known for its 50-year tradition in Leichlingen, was taken over by Christian Schirmer, a former journeyman and now master baker. For the new website, around 150 baked goods were professionally photographed and described. Artificial intelligence facilitated the creation of elaborate product arrangements.

Website “Moritz Netenjakob” - banner imageThe image shows a man sitting at a wooden desk in a room with a chandelier hanging from the ceiling. He is wearing a red sweater and has a surprised expression on his face. On the desk is a small statue of a man in a suit and hat, along with a telephone and a piece of paper. Behind the man, several framed pictures hang on the wall and a window overlooking Cologne Cathedral. The room appears to be a study or office.
