ilumi CMS - which is better?
To program and design websites, various tools can be used to simplify and accelerate this process. Among them, content management systems (CMSs) are often used. In Germany, WordPress is the most commonly used system, accounting for over 60% of websites as of 2024. Other well-known CMSs such as Typo 3, Joomla, and Drupal follow. So why not use these established CMS systems and work with the ilumi CMS instead?
The “advantages” of established CMS systems
To do this, you need to understand what the established CMS systems were designed for and who operates them:
A WordPress CMS is designed to simplify programming for developers. This starts with the design phase: There are many ready-made templates that simply need to be customized for each client, and the website framework is complete. Once the client has completed a Typo 3 workshop, they'll even be able to create pages and add content themselves. This would benefit both the developer and the client...
…if you want a standard website.
The right way
But the right approach is different: the customer wants to address a specific target group with his website and sell them something, bring them closer to something, inform them, etc.
This is precisely what a website is designed for. This means developing a design that appeals to the target audience, developing a user interface that the target audience can easily navigate, etc. These considerations are then followed by the individual development of the site, which fits, like a tailor-made suit!

As a customer, are you interested in learning more about a CMS?
If so, you would be a rare exception. As a customer, you have your own business and usually neither the time nor the desire to attend a workshop just for your website.
The ilumi CMS is designed so simply that it's intuitive and easy to understand. As a customer, you'll only see the things you really need. It only takes about 15 minutes to get an idea of how it works, and after that, you can manage the things you want yourself.
ilumi CMS – More than just a tool for websites
The ilumi CMS was not actually a website, but rather an administration tool for a car repair shop:

A new customer was added to the ilumi CMS at reception. There, the data protection agreement was signed and saved in the system along with the new customer's contact information. The car mechanic handling the service was able to simultaneously register the customer's car in the system via iPad and save photos of any damage.
What's interesting here is the hierarchy that can be mapped in the ilumi CMS: One or more cars are listed under a customer, and repair and tire storage information is listed under the cars. This way, for example, when customer "Schneider" came in for a tire change, you could immediately see where the winter tires for his "Porsche" were located in the warehouse.
By the way, the CMS will also be adapted to your personal corporate design.
The ilumi CMS can also be used to map complex data structures and it is possible to implement workflows.
